Taylor Fritz was unable to reach the Wimbledon final for the first time in his career this year.
Fritz was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in a four set semifinal at Wimbledon, despite having two points to take the match to a decider.
After the match, Fritz admitted he needed to improve an area of his game if he wants to compete with the likes of Alcaraz in the future.
Following Fritz’s exit from Wimbledon, former finalist Nick Kyrgios has revealed if he thinks the American will ever be able to win a major.

Nick Kyrgios reveals if he thinks Taylor Fritz can win a Grand Slam
The last time an American man won a Grand Slam singles title was when Andy Roddick won the 2003 US Open.
When discussing Fritz’s chances at ending the drought for American tennis, Kyrgios revealed that he does believe he has what it takes to win a major.
However, Kyrgios pointed out that he thinks Wimbledon is Fritz’s best chance at achieving that in the future.
“I think so,” Kyrgios said on talkSPORT. “I think he could. I am not sure on any other surface, but I think at Wimbledon there could be a potential Grand Slam for him there.
“Today he was the better player for about an hour and 15 minutes, but Alcaraz in those clutch moments just played those bigger moments well and that is what the experience of these Grand Slams does, there are so many ups and downs.”
Taylor Fritz’s Grand Slam Record
Fritz’s statistically most consistent Grand Slam tournament is Wimbledon, having won 67% of his matches at the grass court major.
Although he has actually gone further at the US Open, with Fritz losing to Jannik Sinner in his first major final last year.
By far Fritz’s weakest Grand Slam tournament is Roland Garros, where he lost in the first round to Daniel Altmaier at this year’s tournament.
| Taylor Fritz at Grand Slams | Win-loss Record | Best Result | Most Recent Result |
| Australian Open | 16-9 (64%) | Quarterfinals | Third Round – Lost to Gael Monfils |
| Roland Garros | 10-9 (53%) | Fourth Round | First Round – Lost to Daniel Altmaier |
| Wimbledon | 18-9 (67%) | Semifinals | Semifinal – Lost to Carlos Alcaraz |
| US Open | 16-9 (64%) | Final | Final – Lost to Jannik Sinner |
Despite the disappointment of losing in the Wimbledon semifinals, Fritz has received encouraging words from Andre Agassi after his performance against Alcaraz.
Fritz will now look to switch his attention to the North American hard court swing, where he will be hoping to improve on his runner-up finish at the US Open last year.
