Nick Kyrgios is back on the tennis court, with the Australian icon currently preparing for the Miami Open.
Kyrgios takes on Mackenzie McDonald in the first round of the 2025 Miami Open, with the American having just made it through qualifying.
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist once reached 13 in the ATP Tour rankings, but currently occupies number 892.
Kyrgios looked to the Miami Open immediately after his Indian Wells exit, where he retired hurt in his opening match.
The Australian was losing 7-6, 3-0 to Botic van de Zandschulp in round one in the Desert before retiring hurt with a wrist injury.

But he has made the trip to Miami, and even took time to invite a young fan onto the court to play a practice session with him.
He jokingly hit some winners and celebrated passionately on the court, leading to one reaction on X, which read: “Nick Kyrgios has no mercy for kids!”

But the seven-time ATP champion was quick to respond with disbelief, writing: “Insane caption. Literally told the fan to come on over the fence – experience playing with a pro and gave him a racket – can’t win at this point.”

Kyrgios was, of course, being as energetic and entertaining as ever during the practice, whereby a lucky fan will have gained memories for a lifetime.
But the Australian seemingly cannot get away from negativity at this stage of his career, which will come as a real frustration.
He will, however, undoubtedly block out any noise when he takes to the court for more serious action at the Miami Open.
But it remains to be seen how his wrist will hold up, with Kyrgios having undergone surgery on the problem in September 2023.

It is just his fourth tournament of 2025, with his Indian Wells appearance following singles and doubles events at the Brisbane International and Australian Open.
Worryingly, he has lost all of his opening singles matches so far, but did manage to win a doubles match alongside Novak Djokovic in Brisbane.
