Mirra Andreeva has been among the standout players on the WTA Tour in 2026 so far, having already clinched a title.
Andreeva is one of many WTA rising stars, with the 18-year-old arguably leading the way in world number seven.
Russian teenager Andreeva also boasts four career titles, one of which arrived in Adelaide at the beginning of 2026.
Andreeva beat Victoria Mboko in the Adelaide final, although has since lost in the fourth round and round of 16 of the Australian Open and Qatar Open respectively.
Now, Andreeva is looking to defend her Dubai title, ahead of which she has discussed her coach Conchita Martinez.

Andreeva was asked about potentially bringing someone else into her team, to which she responded: “As for now, no.
“I think she’s pretty good at doing her job.
“For now I think if this works, we’re just going to keep it as it is.
“I think we make a great team together. For now, we’re just going to stay like this.”
The fifth seed at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Andreeva received a bye in round one, and was scheduled to play Daria Kasatkina in the second round.
But the Australian withdrew from the WTA 1000 tournament before their clash, handing Andreeva direct entry into the round of 16 without playing a single match.

While Andreeva has a long and likely very successful career ahead of her, Martinez has already been there and done it all.
The Spaniard won a mammoth 33 WTA titles during her time on the court, including Wimbledon back in 1994.
