The grass season has now arrived and Madison Keys is ready to compete.

The 30-year-old is enjoying a special season which commenced with her first Grand Slam title win at the Australian Open.

The American is playing with more freedom and confidence in her game and blistering groundstrokes, and she aims to replicate this form on the grass.

Madison Keys is set to commence her grass-court campaign at Queen’s, which has returned to the WTA Tour for the first time in 51 years.

How is Madison Keys feeling about her game ahead of the grass court season?

Keys will commence her grass court campaign after reaching the quarter-finals of the French Open, where she was beaten by eventual champion in Paris Coco Gauff.

Now the World number five aims to add to her list of grass court titles and she certainly has the big serve and powerful groundstrokes to succeed on the quick and low bouncing surface.

Keys has two grass court titles to her name and she is relishing the chance to compete at Queen’s and add another grass court title to her list of achievements, and she is confident in her game.

“I’m really excited to be here. I love the grass swing and it’s our first time here for many, many years. It is going to be really fun,” Keys said. “I’ve always heard good things about the tournament, the guys always rave about how good it is here and that they love it here.

“It feels a little bit different (to Wimbledon) – admittedly I’ve not been out of Wimbledon much when I come here so it’s nice to see a different part of London. I’ve always loved the grass swing and played a lot of tournaments in the UK so adding this one to the list as well.

“There’s a lot of opportunity this grass court season. I have done well on grass, won a few titles and gone deep in other tournaments. I always feel comfortable on the grass and it’s my favourite swing of the year so it will be fun to get started here.”

Keys has won 53 of her 73 matches, giving her a win percentage of 72.6%.

She has three titles on grass, the first of which came at the Eastbourne International in 2014, followed by the Birmingham title in 2016.

Seven years later, Keys claimed victory at Eastbourne once again and she will aim for more success in the lead-up to Wimbledon in 2025.

Keys has yet to go beyond the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, but she will fancy her chances to go further at the All-England Club this season.
