Coco Gauff has become a multi-time Grand Slam champion and she is hungry for more.

The 21-year-old won her first major since the 2023 US Open by clinching the French Open crown on a windy afternoon in Paris.

As she did in New York, Gauff came from a set down to defeat Aryna Sabalenka in three sets to succeed on the Parisian clay.

This success came three years after she lost in the Roland Garros final to Iga Swiatek, and the World number two does not plan on stopping here.

What is Coco Gauff’s next goal after winning the French Open?

Tears flowed from the eyes of Coco Gauff after she achieved Grand Slam success once again.

After two hours and 38 minutes of intense tennis at the highest level, Gauff overcame Sabalenka 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 to win the French Open.

This ensured she became the youngest woman to win Grand Slam titles on multiple surfaces since Maria Sharapova in 2004 and 2006.

Gauff sank to her knees, hugged her opponent, before going into the stands to share a warm embrace with her parents.

Following the trophy presentation, she was interviewed by 2018 French Open runner-up Sloane Stephens for TNT Sports, where she stated her desire to keep adding to her Grand Slam haul.

“Hopefully another one,” Gauff said with a smile, when asked what she is planning to do next after claiming the crown. “Definitely another one! But for now I’m just enjoying this one and glad to get another title for my resume.”

What did Coco Gauff say about her French Open title win?

Gauff struggled at the Grand Slam events in 2024 apart from the French Open, where she reached the semi-finals.

A year later, Gauff has gone all the way in Paris and she ends her 2025 clay court season with the biggest title of them all.

Post-match Gauff was elated after securing another major and explained how hard she fought to overcome the tricky conditions and a tough opponent.

“It feels great. It was tough,” Gauff told Stephens. “I don’t think either of us were playing great but I knew as soon as I stepped on the court when I felt it was windy it was going to be one of those matches so I was just trying to give myself a chance on every point.

“I had to dig really deep. Especially that last game. I was very nervous but that was something I was really proud of just being able to get another ball back and play with the conditions.”
