Juan Carlos Ferrero continues to dominate headlines, as he has just delivered a fresh interview during what has been a busy Christmastime for him.
After all, the Spaniard has been the talk of the tennis world since his split with Carlos Alcaraz, with many wondering what could possibly have provoked such a successful relationship to end.
Fortunately for tennis fans, the coach himself was keen to come out and set the record straight after days of radio silence from both parties.
Now, Ferrero seemingly can’t stop sharing his side of the story, having most recently made a prediction about what Alcaraz might do in reaction to their split.

In his latest interview, speaking to Radio Nacional Española, the Spaniard was frank in his assessment of Alcaraz’s current coaching situation.
After all, in his absence, a huge gulf has now been created within the staff.
Asked if he thought the 22-year-old might seek to fill it with a big name, Ferrero admitted: “When relationships are very long, they wear down, which is why having an assistant coach was so important to refresh our ideas. Those weeks off when Samuel was with him allowed us to clear things up, and it was also good for me to come back refreshed.
Who would you like to see coach Carlos Alcaraz next?
“Samuel has enough experience to coach Carlos alone. After some time, and after two or three consecutive years without a break, perhaps the arrival of a new coach will be considered, so he can have some rest.”
Ferrero revealed what Alcaraz could have done to stop their split recently too, highlighting his regret in how the situation unfolded.

Whilst Alcaraz could well look for a refresh in the coming years, for now, he clearly respects Lopez massively.
After all, after hiring his compatriot around this time last year, he spoke glowingly about the 55-year-old.

Speaking to reporters, he claimed: “I think Samuel, for me, is one of the best coaches that we have on Tour.”
However, he then went on to reveal his expectations on how they might work together, which was sadly cut short after just a year.
Alcaraz concluded: “They (Lopez and Ferrero) trust each other 100 per cent, and being able to travel with both, for me, it’s going to be great. I think I’m going to grow as a player thanks to them. I think we are going to work pretty hard and pretty good for the next season and the next years. Hopefully, we are going to make good results together.”
