Felix Auger-Aliassime capped off a phenomenal year at the ATP Finals, where he reached the final four.

Carlos Alcaraz beat Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals, but the run was enough to ensure the Canadian enjoyed a fantastic rankings rise.

Auger-Aliassime will be fifth in the year-end ATP rankings, having just climbed three spots after his time in Torino.

He’s claimed three titles this season, triumphing in Adelaide, Montpellier and Brussels, with all three wins arriving on hard courts.

John Isner makes Felix Auger-Aliassime prediction for 2026

Auger-Aliassime’s efforts across 2025 have now been analysed by a trio of former ATP players, who were speaking on the Nothing Major Show.

John Isner said: “Shout out to Felix and the year he had. 50+ wins and he finished top five in the world. Months ago we talked about if Felix is having a good year or not having a good year.

“But it was the US Open [where he turned things around]. He lost early in Canada, like all the Canadians do. It was like here is streaky Felix.

“But in my mind he has such a great mentality. He can hit that delete button off an early loss so well. He is just back to work and he has that belief that his good results are coming.

“It happened at the US Open and he carried that momentum on through the rest of the season. Makes the semifinals at this event and finishes top five in the world. That is a huge, huge year for Felix.

“For me, I think it’s very repeatable. He is going to use this confidence that he gained at the end of the year and carry that forward to next year in my mind.

“I expect him to have a very solid next year, because he is one of the most professional guys on Tour and now he has got a taste of this event at the end of the year, he is going to want to get back there for sure.

“I am very impressed with Felix. His game indoors, maybe he is the third or fourth best player indoors, Novak [Djokovic] is probably third.

“But he is a bit of a different player indoors, not to the level of [Jannik] Sinner, of course, but he’s had a great year.”

Sam Querrey praises Felix Auger-Aliassime for his comments on the tennis schedule

Along with his superb exploits on the court recently, the Canadian has been in the spotlight for his comments off it.

Auger-Aliassime faced criticism from tennis fans for his thoughts on the tennis schedule, of which he said: “I don’t know how guys don’t enjoy it, to be honest. I think they lost perspective completely.

“I get that you can get tired. I’m tired, too. If you want to play fewer tournaments, stay home. Nobody’s forcing you to be here.”

Where do you think Felix Auger-Aliassime will finish the year ranked next year?

But continuing on from Isner, Sam Querrey said: “I love that. Good for Felix. Everyone complains about the schedule all day long. What a great perspective! Going around the world, to the best cities in the world, playing tennis.

“It does not get much better than that. If you don’t want to play a tournament, don’t play a tournament. Good for him.”

And Steve Johnson added: “He has got the right perspective. I am so done with guys saying the season is long, I’m tired. Don’t play.

“These guys will all go play exhos or do something in December and be like I wish the season was shorter. It p—– me off. Just don’t play.”

It certainly has been a season to remember for Auger-Aliassime, who is now an eight-time winner on the ATP Tour.

He won a total of 50 matches in 2025, losing 24, and was behind only Carlos Alcaraz, Sinner and Alexander Bublik for titles won.
