Joao Fonseca is a man who looks set to do great things during his career, with 2025 set to go down as a breakout year.
Fonseca burst onto the scene at the Australian Open when he beat Andrey Rublev in round one after coming through a rigorous qualifying campaign.
A run to the second round in Melbourne saw Fonseca climb into the top 100 for the first time in his career, jumping 13 places on the back of a single Grand Slam tournament.
Shortly after his exploits in Australia, Fonseca won his first ATP tournament in Argentina, defeating Francisco Cerundolo to win the Argentina Open.
Now, with the Laver Cup in his immediate thoughts, it looks like Fonseca is keen to finish the year on a high and he’s popped his name down for another event next month.

Joao Fonseca enters ATP 250 event in Brussels
The entry lists for October tournaments are starting to come out, and Fonseca is heading to Belgium.
As far as a 250 event goes, the field looks pretty strong at this one, and the Belgian tennis fans will be keen to catch a glimpse of the boy wonder.
Fonseca views Roger Federer as an inspiration to him, and he hopes to eventually start collecting Grand Slam titles just like the great man himself.
Fonseca will be unseeded for the European Open, which starts in October, and that makes him a very daunting prospect in the earlier rounds for some of the seeded players.
European Open event looks stacked with quality
Clearly, Fonseca fancies a challenge, and he should most definitely get one at this event.
The tournament features three players from the top 16 in the world rankings, and all eight seeded players sit inside the top 41 in world tennis.
