Jessica Pegula kickstarted her Wimbledon campaign in emphatic fashion, announcing herself as here to compete rather than just to take part.
As a player notorious for her inability to see out big wins and deep tournament runs, the quarter-final has always been her limit across all four Grand Slams.
However, with how wide-open this Wimbledon draw is, surely she must be aiming higher this time around.
Martina Navratilova clearly expects plenty from her as well, as she would outline in her post-match interview.

Speaking to the Tennis Channel panel after her blistering first-round victory over Ashlyn Krueger, Jessica Pegula was likely pleased with her performance.
And whilst initially complimentary, Navratilova actually sought to pick out one area where the American could improve, and if she had plans to hone in on that area.
The 67-year-old first asked: ‘Have you been working on your serve for the grass or in general?’
Pegula responded: ‘In general, but definitely for the grass, getting that slice serve moving a little bit more. Mixing up the pace, different spins, different looks. Definitely that. And then working in some more slice.’
This provoked another line of questioning from Navratilova, who noted: ‘Have you been working on the transitions? I think you have a great volley but you can come in more, particularly on the grass. Are you going to do more of a transition game to get to the net?’
The 30-year-old would then reveal how her knowledge of the grass and its unpredictability led to her game plan throughout the match: ‘Definitely come in or be comfortable if I have to come in. Use the slice and also the feel shots around the net, a couple of drop shots. I thought I hit a couple of really good ones today, especially as it was a little windy, and against the wind, it works well.
‘All those little intangibles that work on grass, I have been working hard on them so hopefully that pays off over the next couple of weeks.’
Andy Roddick has already made his bold Pegula prediction for Wimbledon, another who is expecting big things from her.

Having missed Roland Garros through injury, there were fears that the world number five might get left behind ahead of Wimbledon.
However, her preparation for the grass-court season was clearly exemplary, and that was no greater exemplified than through the way in which she won in Berlin, beating Anna Kalinskaya in a titanic final just after she had dumped out Coco Gauff in straight sets the round earlier.
The American announced herself as well and truly back, and whilst Eastbourne did not quite go to plan, losing to Emma Raducanu in the Round of 16, her emphatic start at Wimbledon has many excited once again.
Winning the tournament might be a step too far for Pegula, but her proficiency on this surface makes her a threat to anyone she faces.
And with Aryna Sabalenka ruled out of Wimbledon, the draw just got a lot easier. She should have huge aspirations of a deep run after her quarter-final exit last year.
