Jessica Pegula is now heading for back-to-back WTA 1000 finals after reaching the Cincinnati Open final.
Andy Roddick had good news for Pegula ahead of the Cincinnati Open, with the latter in superb form going into the event.
Pegula successfully defended her Canadian Open title earlier this month, beating compatriot Amanda Anisimova.
The former came out on top 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 in Toronto, with her latest triumph in Cincinnati also coming in three sets.
Pegula will meet Aryna Sabalenka in the Cincinnati Open final, having beaten Paula Badosa 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the semis.

The match was heavily interrupted by rain, but Pegula battled through the elements to defeat the Spaniard.
She has now provided a fitness update ahead of the final, with the world number six telling Tennis Channel after her win: “I actually felt good today.
“Physically I felt better than yesterday. Maybe getting that hot day, powering through out the way, gave me a little extra today. I feel good.
“I still feel a little tired, because it’s been a long two weeks because of the crazy schedule but I feel good going into the final.”

Pegula headed straight to Cincinnati after her successful event in Toronto, having also just competed at the Olympics.
Representing Team USA in Paris, she made it to the second round of the women’s singles and women’s doubles.

But despite the very busy schedule, the American has now won her last nine matches, with double figures now on the cards.
It won’t, however, be easy against Sabalenka, with the third seed having defeated top seed Iga Swiatek in her semi-final.
The Belarusian won 6-3, 6-3 against the Pole, with Swiatek also labelling the WTA Tour schedule ‘crazy’ given the lack of rest that players are getting.
