Jannik Sinner believes he knows which player is the favourite to win the Wimbledon title.
The Italian is gearing up for his fourth appearance at the All England Club is one of the top contenders to claim glory.
After winning the Halle Open the World number one is feeling confident about his chances of victory at SW19.
But the 22-year-old still believes there is one player who remains above the rest as the man to beat.
Who does Jannik Sinner think is the favourite to win Wimbledon?
Sinner is certainly one of the favourites for the Wimbledon title given his recent title victory and his stellar season so far.
Carlos Alcaraz is certainly in the mix after winning the French Open and he enters the grass court Grand Slam as the defending champion.
But the Australian Open winner thinks Novak Djokovic, who is recovering from knee surgery, is still the favourite to win Wimbledon should he compete.
“I won’t say whether I’m the favourite or not. Djokovic certainly is: if he comes back, if he is fit, he is clearly the favourite,” Sinner told La Repubblica.
“Alcaraz won last year, [Alexander] Zverev is playing very well. We see. It will be a very interesting tournament.”
What is Jannik Sinner’s Wimbledon record?
In four previous appearances at Wimbledon, Sinner has contested 12 matches and has won nine of them.
In 2022 he reached the semi-finals where he led Djokovic by two sets, before the Serbian produced a magnificent comeback to win 5-7 2-6 6-3 6-2 6-2.
The following year the pair met once again, this time in the quarter-finals. Once again Djokovic prevailed, this time in straight sets.
Sinner has won three of his four matches against the 24-time Grand Slam champion since then, and the pair could clash again in 2024, but this time in the final.
