Jannik Sinner accepted a three-month suspension earlier this year and it’s fair to say that the tennis world has been less than impressed with how it’s been handled.

Serena Williams weighed in on the debate this week, and a number of players, past and present, have had their say on the whole ordeal involving the world number one.

Nick Kyrgios has perhaps unsurprisingly been dead against the incident too and it will be fascinating to see what sort of reception Sinner receives when he returns next month.

Sinner will return to action at the ATP Masters event in Rome and he’s probably picked that event to perfection with his home fans unlikely to turn on him over the ordeal.

Jannik Sinner shares preparation plans with four-word Instagram post

The Italian player has posted on Instagram following a practice session with Jack Draper earlier this week, ahead of his return to the sport.

Sinner is still top of the ATP world rankings, with Carlos Alcaraz now the closest player to him, having won the Monte Carlo Masters last week.

It would appear that Sinner is cranking up his preparation for his comeback and Great Britain number one Jack Draper has been putting him through his paces.

The reigning Australian Open champion posted on Instagram: “Back on court, thanks Jack Draper.”

Sinner and Draper have come through the youth game together and clearly, there is still a lot of respect evident between the two players.

Sinner will return bang in form

A three-month ban is hardly going to do much to disturb the form of Sinner and it’s highly anticipated that he will soon be back in his stride.

Sinner is a quality player and he’s on a long-standing run as the best player in the world in terms of the rankings.

The 23-year-old will be keen to win more major titles and it would be no surprise to see him go deep at the French Open with the player looking in fine fettle earlier this year.

Practising with Sinner will hardly do Draper any harm either and he will be hoping to continue his climb up the rankings as the year progresses.
