Jannik Sinner is bidding for another Grand Slam title over the next seven days as he aims to win his second of the year.
The Italian player needs to ensure that he retains his focus with Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic both falling at early hurdles at the US Open.
Sinner faces Tommy Paul next and has praised the American. He is bidding to make a Grand Slam quarter-final for the second time in succession after his Wimbledon run.
The match-up promises to be an exciting one and it will be interesting to see who will prevail. Sinner does look in good shape though and the hope will be that he can prevail.

Jannik Sinner makes claim about his coaching team after third round US Open win
The world number one is currently the world number one and he will be attempting to win a second Grand Slam next week.
Currently, Sinner is being coached by Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi. He has strong people in his corner and he’s delivered praise on those on his coaching team.
He said during his press conference: ” I feel like the movement I have improved. The physical aspect. And also the serve, I feel like I have improved, especially the second serve. I feel these are the three things.
“What Darren always tells me, is that he is very good, he understands the position I’m in and the problems I had throughout this period. He’s a person who understands that and still gives you confidence, but he also wants you to work. It’s a great mix of many things.
“I feel very good with him, with the mix of Darren and Simona, they are two different coaches – completely different – but they work very well together. They have great respect for each other and this is great to see. It’s difficult to find two coaches who are different but still working very well together. I am lucky to have this kind of team.”
Sinner can go all the way at US Open and he has a huge chance
This is now a golden opportunity for Sinner to collect another Grand Slam to go with his Australian Open crown which he won earlier in the year.
The talented youngster is going to be a serial Grand Slam victor anyway but with Alcaraz and Djokovic out, his chances have naturally increased.
Sinner is now the top-ranked player left in the draw at Flushing Meadows and he must turn on the style against Paul.
It won’t be an easy match for the Italian but he does have the quality to come through in style and set up a quarter-final match.
The tournament perhaps does lose a little sparkle when the big players go out and now Sinner will hope to make this year’s edition of the US open very interesting indeed.
