Jannik Sinner threw his promising 2024 season into doubt when he pulled out mid-way through the Madrid Open with a hip injury.
It is an ailment synonymous with tennis players, having notoriously plagued Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal across their illustrious careers.
So, it is something that the Italian will want to deal with seriously, and take all possible measures to mitigate its effects.
With that came huge doubts over his availability to play at the French Open, but now we finally seem to have a definitive answer regarding his presence at the event.
Jannik Sinner delivers Roland Garros update
The latest comes courtesy of Sky Sports Italy, who deliver the news just a day after Nadal arrived at Roland Garros ready for his final foray at his favourite tournament.
It marked a triumphant return for the King of Clay, but now it is Sinner with his own good news, as he is confirmed to have reacted well to the training and will now travel to Paris.

The report states that he will leave today, and therefore will take up his position as the second seed in the men’s draw.
Given the outstanding openness of this Grand Slam, his presence will certainly make him the new favourite to win the whole thing.
Jannik Sinner is a big favourite if he is free from injury
This marks a huge piece of news for the 22-year-old, who instantly shoots to the top of the favourites should he be deemed fit.
After all, before his injury forced him to retire from Madrid, Sinner was enjoying a mesmeric 2024 laden with silverware.
Starting off his year in Melbourne, he claimed his maiden Grand Slam title in emphatic fashion, brushing off fierce competition to make history.
He would then follow that up with a win in Rotterdam, before then going on to add a Masters 1000 title in Miami.

However, after that was where things really started going wrong, and Sinner’s injury troubles truly spiked. There were even fears that his hip ailment might turn chronic and put his entire career in jeopardy.
Clearly that is not the case, and with Novak Djokovic far from at his peak, Carlos Alcaraz still suffering from his forearm injury and Nadal not what he once was, Sinner might have just emerged as the new outstanding favourite at Roland Garros.
