Jannik Sinner has achieved another tennis record that even Carlos Alcaraz has not done yet.
Sinner is currently on a 21-match winning streak, having won titles in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo, and is now within two matches of adding to his collection in Madrid.
The world number one is the favorite to win the title in the Spanish capital, as Sinnerβs biggest rival Alcaraz is missing the rest of the clay court season due to a wrist injury.
Despite this, Sinner had never reached the semifinals of the Madrid Open before in his career and he has now done so after beating Spanish teenage sensation Rafael Jodar.

Jannik Sinner has now reached the semifinals of every Masters 1000 tournament
Sinner beat Jodar 6-2, 7-6(0) to reach the semifinals of the Madrid Open for the first time in his career.
While this is not something Alcaraz has not done before, as a two-time former Madrid Open champion, Sinner has achieved an impressive feat that his biggest rival is yet to do.
Can any of these four players stop Jannik Sinner winning the French Open this year?
Is there anyone else you think could be a threat to Sinner?
Sinner has now reached at least the semifinals of all nine Masters 1000 tournaments.
This is something that only Rafael Nadal (2009), Novak Djokovic (2009), Roger Federer (2010), Andy Murray (2015) and Alexander Zverev (2026) have done before.
Alcaraz has won six of the nine Masters 1000 tournaments, but there are still three where he is yet to reach the semifinals.
Those three tournaments are the Canadian Open, the Shanghai Masters and the Paris Masters, all where Alcarazβs best result is reaching the quarterfinals.
Alcaraz will have an opportunity to join Sinner and those five other players later this year if he has returned to fitness.

Jannik Sinner could achieve record that only Novak Djokovic has done before at the Italian Open
Not only has Sinner now reached the semifinals of every Masters 1000 tournament, but he is now within eight wins of achieving a feat that only Djokovic has done before.
The Madrid Open and the Italian Open are the only two Masters 1000 tournaments that Sinner has never won before, and he could have claimed both titles before the French Open this year.
Djokovic is the only player to have won every Masters 1000 tournament before, which he has remarkably done twice in his career.
Nadal and Federer were Djokovicβs biggest rivals throughout his career, but neither were able to win every Masters 1000 tournament.
The Miami Open and the Paris Masters were the two tournaments that Nadal was never able to win, while Federer never won the Monte Carlo Masters or the Italian Open.
Is menβs tennis boring without Carlos Alcaraz?
Sinner will look to reach his fifth consecutive Masters 1000 final at the Madrid Open, where he will now play against Arthur Fils, who is also unbeaten on clay this year.
This will be a second meeting between the two players, with Sinner beating Fils when they played before in Montpellier three years ago.
