Novak Djokovic will be hoping that his return to Grand Slam finals was not a one-off.

Djokovic beat Jannik Sinner to reach his first Grand Slam final in nearly two years at the Australian Open.

However, the Serbian was unable to complete a dream fortnight in Melbourne, with Djokovic being beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the Australian Open final.

With uncertainty hanging over Djokovic’s future in the sport, former top 10 player Jack Sock has revealed if he thinks the 24-time Grand Slam champion will reach another major final this year.

Jack Sock says if he thinks Novak Djokovic will reach another major final this year

Djokovic is the greatest tennis player of all time according to many people, but he is still seeking an elusive 25th Grand Slam title at 38 years old.

However, Sock does not believe that is going to happen, at least in 2026, after making a big prediction about Djokovic on the Nothing Major Podcast.

“It’s hard to say,” said Sock. “He is basically Mr. Australian Open and has been for his whole career, so I’m assuming there might be a little bit more juice down there for him. He might have wanted it a little more.

“They are probably all about the same, but I think that has been his favourite one over the course of his career and he said he’d never experienced a crowd like that in Australia over the last couple of days and their support, so that probably played into helping him out there and getting the mojo going. I think we all know that it will be a very light year for him on the schedule side.

“I don’t know if a 39 year old Novak will have the same juice at the French Open trying to grind out these sets against these young bucks but obviously when Wimbledon comes around we know how much it means to him and everyone in sport. He will bring it, but I don’t think he’s making another final this year in my opinion.”

When did Novak Djokovic last reach the final of every Grand Slam?

Djokovic won his 24th Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open, but he has been unable to add to his major collection since then.

Since winning the 2023 US Open, Djokovic has only reached two Grand Slam finals, losing in the Wimbledon final in 2024 and now the 2026 Australian Open final.

The 2025 season was the first year where Djokovic did not reach a single major final since 2017.

Alcaraz and Sinner continue to dominate the major tournaments, after sharing the last nine Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic will be hoping to break this dominance at the French Open, but as the world number three will likely have to get past both Alcaraz and Sinner to win the title, as he was unable to do at the Australian Open.
