Iga Swiatek has continued her dominant run at Indian Wells this year after beating Karolina Muchova to reach the quarter-finals.
Swiatek had struggled during the Middle Eastern swing, but appears to have quickly put that behind her after beginning her Indian Wells title defence.
In a rematch of the 2023 Roland Garros final, Swiatek continued to adapt at Indian Wells to the courts that have changed for the first time in 25 years.
As she bids for a historic third Indian Wells title, Swiatek has already surpassed Serena Williams with a WTA record.

After reaching her fourth Indian Wells quarter-final, Swiatek achieved a WTA 1000 record.
With the highest conversion rate of quarter-finals reached at the these calibre events of 61.8%, Swiatek has overtaken Williams.
The next best players in this statistic are Maria Sharapova, former world number two Li Na and Agnieszka Radwanska.
Swiatek has won six of the available WTA 1000 tournaments, with the Italian Open her most successful having won three titles.
The only WTA 1000 event that she has not played in is the Wuhan Open, which she missed last year after Swiatek received a one month ban.

Iga Swiatek matches Monica Seles with dominant run to Indian Wells quarter-finals
It has not been an easy run for Swiatek, who has beaten two former top 10 players in Caroline Garcia and Muchova, as well as 2024 Australian Open semi-finalist Dayana Yastremska.
Despite these matches seeming difficult on paper, Swiatek has only dropped six games combined in these three matches.

The only other player to have matched this is Monica Seles, who also dropped only six games en route to the 2002 Indian Wells quarter-finals.
Although she was dominant in the first few rounds, Seles ended up losing in the semi-finals that year to Martina Hingis.
Swiatek will be looking to avoid any upsets in her Indian Wells quarter-final against Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng.
