Iga Swiatek opened up on the factors of her game that Wim Fissette is helping her to change.

Since their partnership began in October 2024, the Pole has yet to win a title but she has produced some steady results.

The 23-year-old has reached at least the quarter-finals of the four events he has played so far this season.

Now the WTA Tour prepares to head to North America for the Indian Wells and Miami Masters events, where Iga Swiatek looks to have some solid results.

Iga Swiatek joined forces with one of the best coaches on tour in Wim Fissette after she parted ways with Tomasz Wiktorowski.

The Belgian is still getting to know Swiatek and her game, but she is gradually adjusting to his style and what he wants her to do on court.

Commenting on what they have been trying to change, Swiatek said: “We are working in a different way a little bit, in terms of getting back to my roots.

“With Wim, we’re working on my footwork a lot, just movement and being able to get back up from really defensive, tough positions to still win a point. Obviously with more time on the practice court also some changes in my game are going to come.

“Over the past few years, I learned how to be an aggressive player. And the player that uses the first chance in the rally to go forward… I always have to remember what is really my biggest weapon.”

What is Iga Swiatek’s win-loss record under coach Wim Fissette?

Since Fissette became Swiatek’s coach, she has competed in five tournaments, starting with November’s WTA Finals.

She has claimed 16 victories and suffered five defeats, the most recent one coming at the Dubai Tennis Championships against Mirra Andreeva.

Swiatek’s best results came in her first tournaments of 2025. She guided Poland to the United final, before losing an epic battle against Madison Keys in Australia.

Swiatek’s quest for a fourth successive Qatar Open title was ended by Jelena Ostapenko in the semi-finals while Andreeva defeated in Dubai for the first time.
