Coco Gauff certainly put up a fight in her latest clash with Iga Swiatek, but it was the latter who came out on top once more.
The Pole boasts a superb record against the American, with her winning streak kept up in their latest tie at the French Open.
Unsurprisingly, the world number one started very brightly against the number three seed in their Roland Garros semi-final meeting.
Swiatek cruised to an opening set 6-2 win in over just 30 minutes, but did find the second set much more difficult.
But the Pole showed her class to secure a 6-4 second set victory, landing herself yet another French Open final place.

Iga Swiatek spots Coco Gauff growth after their French Open clash
Gauff showed plenty of resilience throughout the clash, most notably when she saved three match points at one stage in the second set.
The improvement of her mental game was highlighted by the Pole before the meeting, with Swiatek now predicting further growth for the 2023 US Open winner.
“It was intense,” Swiatek said on Eurosport after the match. “In the second set it was right because we were breaking each other. I was consistent with my tactics and went for it.
“I think she is progressing a lot, you can see by her results. The US Open showed she is tough.
“At this age, it’s kind of obvious she will grow. It’s nice to see her handling things around her. Coco is one of the most consistent players out there.”
Iga Swiatek makes French Open observation after her semi-final win
Remarkably, Swiatek almost fell at a very early stage of the competition, having been forced to save match point against Naomi Osaka in the second round.
She perhaps used that near-miss to her advantage, with Swiatek now becoming the fifth player in the Open Era to secure 20+ consecutive women’s singles main draw wins at the French Open, as per OptaAce.
The Pole has now looked back on the dramatic victory that left fans comparing her to the King of Clay Rafael Nadal, having spotted something unique to Roland Garros.
“Something changed [after the match against Osaka],” Swiatek added. “I just adjusted better to the court.
“The atmosphere is much different than other tournaments. Against Naomi Osaka, I didn’t have a chance to get into it. The weather changed and that helped my game.”
