Iga Swiatek has announced her plans after competing at the WTA Finals.

The 23-year-old has not played since the US Open quarter-finals in September, where she lost to the tournament runner-up Jessica Pegula.

Since then the Pole has split with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski and replaced him with Wim Fisette, the former coach of Naomi Osaka.

Furthermore, Swiatek lost the World number one ranking to Aryna Sabalenka, who has won two tournaments since she last stepped on court.

But the Olympic bronze medalist is preparing for her return and has since added another tournament to her schedule after the WTA Finals.

Where will Iga Swiatek play after the WTA Finals?

Iga Swiatek will enter the WTA Finals as the defending champion after winning the title for the first time in Cancun in 2023.

She will enter the tournament in different fashion this year, first and foremost as the World number two and with a lack of matchplay.

But following the conclusion of the WTA Finals, Swiatek has now confirmed that she will represent Poland in the Billie Jean King Cup finals. This event will commence on November 13, four days after the WTA Finals comes to an end.

“See you in Malaga! I’m happy to announce that I will play in the BJKC Finals. I’m glad that I’ll play for my country and proudly represent Poland,” Swiatek posted on X.

“Together with team Poland we will give our best on the court. I hope you’ll watch and support us. See you soon.”

What is Iga Swiatek’s Billie Jean King Cup record?

Swiatek thoroughly enjoys representing her country and she will back in the red white of Poland at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

She last played in the tournament in April, to help her nation qualify for the finals, which will be held in Malaga, Spain.

The former World number one has a healthy record at the tournament, having won nine of the 11 matches she has played so far, with the two defeats coming back in 2019.

Poland are due to play Spain in their first tie of the Finals, and Swiatek could face Paula Badosa, who has been in sparkling form since winning the Citi Open in August.
