Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff now know who they could face if they are to claim glory at the Indian Wells Masters.
The third WTA 1000 event of the season is just around the corner and fans and the players are going through their last bits of preparation before the tournament commences.
The Pole has achieved some impressive results in America especially at Indian Wells, and will be keen to play there once again.
Coco Gauff meanwhile, is back on home soil and hopes to use the crowd to help her lift her game and snap her three-match losing streak.
What could Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek face at the US Open?
The draw for the Indian Wells Masters has now been revealed and each player now knows their potential path to the title.
Gauff will begin her campaign against either fellow former US Open champion Emma Raducanu or Moyuka Uchijima.
Serbia’s Olga Danilović or Maria Sakkari, who beat Gauff at Indian Wells a year ago, could be waiting for the 20-year-old in round three.
Gauff could face fellow American and Qatar Open winner Amanda Anisimova in round four, while Australian Open winner Madison Keys or Emma Navarro could set up an exciting quarter-finals clash.
The World number three could face Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals, and potentially Swiatek or Elena Rybakina in the final.
Swiatek on the other hand, will need to defeat either Caroline Garcia or Bernarda Pera in her opening round, and potentially Ons Jabeur in round three.
Karolina Muchova is Swiatek’s likely opponent in the last 16, while Qinwen Zheng and Paula Badosa could meet her in the quarter-finals.
Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Jelena Ostapenko or Mirra Andreeva could be Swiatek’s semi-final opponent, while Gauff, Sabalenka or Keys could face her in the final.
Iga Swiatek aims for Indian Wells history
Both Swiatek and Gauff can make history if they win the Indian Wells title.
The Pole has won the tournament on two previous occasions and can become the first player to win the title three times.
She first claimed the title in 2022, during her 37-match win streak, and the second title came in 2024. On both occasions Swiatek defeated Sakkari in the final.
Gauff meanwhile, has a chance to become the first American woman to lift the Indian Wells trophy since Serena Williams in 2001.
This would also mark her first individual title of the season, following her United Cup success with Team USA in January.
