Carlos Alcaraz shares what made him nervous today

Well, it’s hard to imagine Alcaraz getting nervous as nothing seems to faze the youngster when he has a racquet in his hand.

However, he did have some butterflies floating around in his gut today, despite winning easily.

He told BBC Sport: “Today was a test of fire, no discomfort, from here we’ll be getting better.

“Maybe today I was a bit nervous about how it would be, Thiago hits the ball so hard, I didn’t know how the forearm would hold up. “

Alcaraz has more magic in the locker this year

It’s quite remarkable what the young talent has achieved already despite his tender years.

The Spanish sensation could dominate the game in years to come and already a rivalry with Jannik Sinner looks to be on the cards.

Alcaraz needs to stay grounded but with a good team around him, he should be set for more trophy-laden years.
