Andy Roddick has explained why he’s expecting Carlos Alcaraz to have a big week at Indian Wells after the draw was announced.

Well, it would appear as though Roddick is a huge fan of the Spaniard sensation and fancies his chances at Indian Wells.
Alcaraz lost in the quarter-final at the Australian Open with Alexander Zverev beating him in four sets.
The 21-year-old played Rafa Nadal earlier this week and Alcaraz is keen to adapt his compatriot’s never-say-die attitude to his own game.
Roddick believes that Alcaraz will go well at Indian Wells and he’s explained why.
He told the Served with Andy Roddick podcast: “This surface, as we saw last year and he played well the year before, is so good for Carlos Alcaraz right?
“He can create speed when it’s slow, he can still move the ball no matter how slow it is, gets it up and away, he can get away with that little bunny kick where he’s just going to firm it and go massive down the middle, relying on court speed.
“I love this for Carlos obviously, a lot of question marks coming off of an ankle injury in Rio, but I love this surface for him.”
Alcaraz will be among the favourites at Indian Wells
The talented youngster is a born winner and he will be craving more big titles in 2024.
Alcaraz kicks off with a bye at the tournament which starts later this week.
The talent will face either Luca Van Assche or Matteo Arnaldi in the last 32 of the competition and he must wait to discover who he faces.
Roddick makes some very good points about Alcaraz and it does feel as though the surface and conditions could suit him.
It promises to be an exciting tournament and it will be fascinating to see if Alcaraz can come out on top.
