Rafael Nadal has officially confirmed that he will retire from tennis.
It’s a day that no tennis fan has ever wanted to arrive, but all good things must come to an end.
The 37-year-old has battled with various injuries in recent years but despite hopes that it may not be the case, the Spaniard has announced when he will retire.
In an emotional video posted to social media, Nadal said it was an “appropriate time to put an end to a career that has been long and much more successful than I could have ever imagined”.

When is Rafael Nadal’s last tennis match?
Nadal has confirmed that the final game of his career will be in the Davis Cup finals in Malaga, Spain in November, where Spain will be hoping to get past the Netherlands to face the winners of Germany vs Canada.
He will be alongside Carlos Alcaraz, who recently hinted at Nadal’s retirement.
Spain face the Netherlands on Tuesday 19 November, 2025 at 4 PM BST and 5 PM CET.
The semi-finals will then take place on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November before the final on Sunday 24 November.

Rafael Nadal’s last tennis game will be available via global broadcast on the Tennis Channel, as well as the likes of BeIN Sports and DAZN. Fans in Spain meanwhile will be able to watch on Movistar +.
All three channels are subscription-based and the three will also have live-streaming platforms for those wishing to watch while on the move.

Tickets for the Davis Cup quarter-final tie involving Nadal are currently sold out however should any spare become available, they can be found on the Davis Cup website.
