Carlos Alcaraz is now a six-time Grand Slam champion after a stunning win over Jannik Sinner in the US Open final.
Alcaraz defeated Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 for his second US Open title, while he has also taken over the Italian as the world number one.
Sinner and Alcaraz played at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, representing their 15th meeting on the ATP Tour.
And the Spaniard now boasts a 10-5 win-loss record over the Italian, extending his lead with a blistering display in Queens.
Tim Henman backed Sinner for US Open success, but the 24-year-old was unable to defend his title from 2024.

How Carlos Alcaraz’s team reacted during his US Open winning speech
Henman’s fellow pundit Laura Robson was courtside immediately after the match, where she was able to witness first-hand the reactions from the champion’s box.
She said on Sky Sports Tennis: “We are so lucky to be just in front of Carlos Alcaraz’s player box and we have been watching their reactions as they have had tears in their eyes.
“There were so many hugs, so many kisses being blown. You forget what it means for the rest of the support crew as well.
“The fact that Juan Carlos Ferrero has reached the highest of highs in his career and he almost looks more emotional during that ceremony than you ever saw him on court. It’s just an amazing day for the whole family.
“I think he has about 50 people here because he has a player box somewhere else where he was looking at his friends. Just amazing to be a part of that.”
Carlos Alcaraz praised for ‘amazing’ US Open final speech
Unsurprisingly, Ferrero and Alcaraz’s other team members and fans thoroughly enjoyed watching him superbly overcome the world number one in New York.
And they were also clearly delighted with his winning speech, in which he once more showed his maturity and fantastic character at the age of just 22.
Among other admirable comments, Alcaraz congratulated Sinner in his speech after winning their US Open final, where the duo continued their stunning rivalry.
And it all really impressed former professional Ryan Harrison, who followed fellow pundit Robson by saying: “Incredible stuff.
“The speech was amazing, the way he brought everybody in and let everyone know how vital they are as a team and how important they are.
“They were looking right over us and they were having that back-and-forth moment. It was surreal, I thought it was really incredible.”
Alcaraz really does have a tight-knit unit around him, with that scenario undoubtedly playing a key role in yet another success for the Spanish superstar.
Sinner meanwhile will likely be disappointed with his display given his extremely high standards, but he can hold his head high after another very impressive US Open run.
