Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will go head-to-head for yet another Grand Slam title, having both reached the US Open final.
It represents the third successive Grand Slam final between Sinner and Alcaraz, and their fifth final on the ATP Tour in 2025.
They met at that stage of the French Open and Wimbledon, each winning once, along with Alcaraz’s triumphs in Rome and Cincinnati.
Sinner and Alcaraz have met 14 times in total throughout their careers so far, nine of which have been won by the Spaniard.
Alcaraz hasn’t dropped a set at this year’s US Open, while Sinner dropped one against both Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Carlos Alcaraz suggests the biggest improvement Jannik Sinner has made over the last two years
The Italian is, however, the US Open defending champion, and is currently on a 27-match winning streak on hard courts at Grand Slam level.
Asked ahead of their match to identify how Sinner has improved in the last few years, Alcaraz replied: “I think physically he has improved a lot. Obviously, it wasn’t a secret.
“He has spoken about the physical conditions he had to improve. Over the last year or two he has improved a lot physically.
“His matches are really demanding physically, but now he is able to play at 100 percent for two, three or four hours. That’s the biggest improvement he has made in the last years.”
Carlos Alcaraz states his biggest improvement ahead of US Open final with Jannik Sinner
It’s fair to say that Alcaraz has also improved physically, although the 2022 US Open champion discussed a different area of his game when tasked with answering the same question about himself.
The 22-year-old Spaniard said of his biggest improvement: “I think the consistency and not having those ups and downs in the matches.
“Off the court I have improved a lot and I have realised how important it is to take care of all the details to be perfect. I think that was my biggest improvement.”

Since that 2022 triumph, the Spanish star has gone on to win four more Grand Slam titles, having also lost a Wimbledon final to Sinner.
The Italian has won four of his five Grand Slam titles, with his only loss coming to Alcaraz at Roland Garros this year.
Their record sets up another intriguing clash, with further intrigue added by the fact that the winner will claim the number one spot in the ATP rankings.
Sinner currently occupies that role and has done so for 65 successive weeks, but world number two Alcaraz now has the chance to return to the top of the pile with a win.
