Carlos Alcaraz may be faced with an issue after parting ways with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Alcaraz made the shocking decision to split from Ferrero, which was announced yesterday after seven years together.
This was followed by a statement from Ferrero, who revealed he actually wanted to continue with Alcaraz.
The real reason why Alcaraz has split from Ferrero has now been confirmed, but former US Open finalist Greg Rusedski believes the world number one may not face an issue.

Greg Rusedski ‘not surprised’ by Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero split
Many have been left shocked by the news of Alcaraz and Ferrero’s split, but Rusedski has suggested that he does not feel the same after claiming he has noticed some signs relating to his schedule.
“I’m not surprised,” said Rusedski when speaking to Tennis365. “I would not be surprised if there were some disagreements over scheduling over the last few weeks because Carlos got injured in the ATP Tour event in Tokyo, he then got injured again at the ATP Finals, but he has still been playing on the exhibition circuit.
“You look at the recent documentary on Netflix and you can see that Carlos’s team want him to be ultra professional to try and reach the levels of the greats of the game like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
“You look at Jannik Sinner. He pulled out of the Davis Cup Finals and he is not playing any exhibitions. He is preparing for the new season. When Federer, Nadal and Djokovic were at the top, you didn’t see them playing too many exhibitions.
“The off-season is a crucial time of the year to prepare for the new season, but Carlos is at an age where he thinks he can keep going and nothing will happen to him. That might not be the case.”
Why do you think Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero split?
Alcaraz is set to replace Ferrero as his coach, while still having Samuel Lopez in his team, but Rusedski has implied it may be a case of the grass is not always greener.
Rusedski added, “He has been with Carlos from the start and he might find it hard to get a coach who can give him what Juan Carlos has given him up to this point in his career.”
Potential coaches for Carlos Alcaraz after Juan Carlos Ferrero split
There is now much speculation over who could replace Ferrero in Alcaraz’s team, with there being big shoes to fill.
Andy Murray coached Novak Djokovic earlier this year, and there has been speculation over whether he would now work with another multiple-time Grand Slam champion.
A lot of tennis fans have also thrown out the dream scenario of Rafael Nadal mentoring his compatriot after retiring last year.
While that currently seems like an unlikely scenario, as Nadal has never coached before, someone related to the 22-time Grand Slam champion could work with Alcaraz.
Who would you like to see coach Carlos Alcaraz next?
Carlos Moya has previously spoken about Alcaraz, and could be the ideal person to fill the role for the world number one.
Another Spaniard who could fill the role for Alcaraz is his Davis Cup captain David Ferrer, who already has experience of coaching him.
It is still unclear as to when Ferrero’s vacancy will be filled, with Lopez expected to travel with Alcaraz for the Australian Open.
