There have been some significant shifts in both the ATP and WTA rankings following the Australian Open.
After reaching his first Grand Slam final in nearly two years, Novak Djokovic has risen back up the rankings.
The same can also be said for Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina, who has matched her previous career-high ranking.
However, it has not been positive for all players, with Paula Badosa dropping outside the top 60.
A former Grand Slam finalist has also suffered a huge ranking drop after losing in the first round of the Australian Open.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on the brink of top 100 exit
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is a former world number 11 and reached the final of the French Open in 2021, where she was beaten by Barbora Krejcikova.
The Russian also produced some impressive major results in 2025, with Pavlyuchenkova reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
However, Pavlyuchenkova was unable to replicate this away from the Grand Slams, having won just 5 of her 15 matches on the WTA Tour last year.
This has continued into 2026, but Pavlyuchenkova did not even win a match at the Australian Open this year after losing in the first round to qualifier Zhouxuan Bai.
Who will be ranked higher by the end of 2026 – Elena Rybakina or Aryna Sabalenka?
As a result, Pavlyuchenkova has dropped all of her points from reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals last year and has fallen 53 places down to world number 100.
This is Pavlyuchenkova’s lowest ranking since 2023, and things have only gone from bad to worse for the 34-year-old.
In her first match since the Australian Open, Pavlyuchenkova lost in the first round of the Abu Dhabi Open to McCartney Kessler.
This is her fourth consecutive defeat and has all but confirmed that Pavlyuchenkova will leave the top 100 next week.
Pavlyuchenkova may be a former French Open finalist, but she is now at risk of not getting direct entry for the main draw of the Paris major later this year.

Former top 10 player falls to her lowest ranking in five years
Pavlyuchenkova is not the only big name to have suffered a ranking setback, with Daria Kasatkina in a similar position.
Kasatkina, who switched nationalities from Russia to Australia last year, has been ranked as highly as world number eight, but she is no longer anywhere near that.
Despite now being an Australian citizen, Kasatkina lost in the first round of the Australian Open and she has now fallen to her lowest ranking in five years.

Kasatkina has dropped 19 spots in the latest WTA rankings update, and she is now outside the top 60 in the world.
Like Pavlyuchenkova, Kasatkina was also beaten in the first round of the Abu Dhabi Open and she has now lost seven of her last eight matches.
