Gael Monfils seemed to suggest how much longer he will continue to play professional tennis.
The Frenchman is one of the ATP Tour’s veterans having been on the circuit since turning pro in 2004.
During those two decades he has carved out a reputation of being the ultimate entertainer on court that all the fans enjoy watching play.
Though he is aged 37, Monfils is showing no signs of slowing down as he builds towards competing at another US Open.
How much longer does Gael Monfils think he will continue to play tennis?
Monfils spoke with Tennis Channel after winning his opening match at the Cincinnati Open.
As he continues into the twilight phase of his career, the world number 49 discussed what his aims are each time he steps on court.
While doing so, Monfils mentioned how long he thinks he will continue to play, and fans will be pleased with what he said.
“On the court I don’t really have big goals in a way, just to enjoy myself, win as much as I can. To be honest I have maybe a few more years to play,” Monfils shared. “It has to be a few good years in a way that I am lucky and blessed to be on the court.”

Who is Gael Monfils’ next opponent?
After beating Canadian Open champion Alexei Popyrin in round one of the Cincinnati Open, Monfils will take on Carlos Alcaraz.
The 21-year-old has been in great form after winning the French Open and Wimbledon before Alcaraz claimed a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
Monfils has lost his two previous matches against Alcaraz and he will be up against it when they take to the court in Ohio, but he is ready for the challenge.
“He’s a complete athlete, in terms of speed, endurance, power,” Monfils said. “And then his tennis, of course, is quite complete.
“For me, it’s always cool to play such a big star like Carlos or Jannik—or of course, in my day it was Novak, Rafa, Roger. But to play against those youngsters, it’s always a pleasure.
“Tomorrow, it’s gonna be a great fun for me. Obviously, really tough, but it’s gonna be something that I will remember for a couple years.”
