Francisco Cerundolo has experienced playing Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic on multiple occasions.
Cerundolo is the current world number 19, having just won his fourth ATP title at his home tournament in Buenos Aires.
This is the first time that Cerundolo has won the Argentina Open title, having twice been beaten in the final before.
During his run to the title in the Argentine capital, Cerundolo was asked to build his perfect ATP player, which included naming the person who he thinks is the best overall right now.

Francisco Cerundolo names the best overall ATP player right now
Following his semifinal victory over Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Cerundolo spoke to Bolavip in an interview where he was asked to pick the best forehand, backhand, movement, return and overall player on the ATP Tour.
The stipulation was that Cerundolo had to pick himself for one of these shots, and he did so by going with his forehand.
Andre Agassi has previously praised Cerundolo’s forehand, and it seems as though he backs his own shot as well.
Cerundolo then picked Sinner’s backhand, Alex de Minaur’s movement and Djokovic’s return of serve.
This left Cerundolo to name the best overall player on the ATP Tour, to which he picked world number one and Australian Open champion Alcaraz.
Cerundolo has lost all four previous matches he has played against Alcaraz, while he does have two wins over Sinner and has only played Djokovic once before.
What would the score be if Carlos Alcaraz faced prime Roger Federer?
Who is winning and in how many sets?
Francisco Cerundolo states his goal after winning the Argentina Open
Cerundolo beat Luciano Darderi to win the Argentina Open in front of a noisy home support in Buenos Aires.
After winning his first title since 2024, Cerundolo spoke to Bolavip once again and was asked about his goals going forward now.
Cerundolo stated that he does not set specific goals for himself, but appeared happy with how he had started the 2026 season.
“I don’t set a fixed goal for myself, I just want to perform better in those tournaments because it’s what I lacked last year,” responded Cerundolo.
“I think I had a great tournament at the Australian Open, reaching the round of 16 and losing to a player [Alexander Zverev] who was better than me and almost beat (Carlos) Alcaraz in the semis.
“My goal is to play my best tennis every week and face the world’s best players. If one wants to improve and climb in the ranking, you have to face the best in those stages and aspire to beat them.”
Who is the best ATP player never to win a Grand Slam title?
Is it Alexander Zverev, Marcelo Rios, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer or maybe even someone else?
Cerundolo will not have long to celebrate his latest title victory, as he now heads to Brazil for the Rio Open.
Although he will no longer be in Argentina, Cerundolo will face his compatriot Mariano Navone in the first round.
