Emma Raducanu saw her dreams die for another year at Wimbledon yesterday and she’s now broken her silence on social media.
The Great Britain star was handed a wildcard for this year’s event and in reaching the fourth round she has defied the odds somewhat.
It’s been a supremely turbulent 12 months for Raducanu who was forced to miss three of the four Grand Slam events in 2023 after a string of injuries.
This run to the fourth round is her best finish at a Grand Slam since she tasted success at Flushing Meadows back in 2021.
Now, after a three-set defeat to Lulu Sun at Wimbledon, Raducanu posted a glass-half-full sort of post on her official Instagram account.

What Emma Raducanu posted on Instagram after losing to Lulu Sun
Raducanu has to view her run at this tournament as a successful time of things at Wimbledon.
Okay, she’s no closer to achieving her dream of winning the title but she’s won three matches and some months ago that didn’t feel possible.
Now, Raducanu has taken to Instagram to suggest on her story that she’s proud of herself, sharing a picture of her shortly after surgery and one on Centre Court.
She said: “Only take a glance back to see how far you’ve come! Seven months back from starting to hit balls again, build from here.”
Raducanu is scheduled to represent Great Britain at the Olympics and then there will be the US Open to look forward to.
As a former winner at Flushing Meadows, it looks for all the world as though she will receive a wildcard – although that isn’t definite.
Raducanu has to take every tournament in her stride
It will seriously annoy Raducanu that her body hasn’t been able to back her up since her famous US Open win three years ago.
She’s had rotten luck with injury problems and she is now down at world number 135 in the current rankings.
Raducanu simply needs to enter more tournaments, win some matches and try and ensure she receives mandatory entry into more events.
This Wimbledon run was something she probably didn’t expect but she’s right to take a lot of heart from this tournament.
Now, the challenge is to stay fit and start climbing the world rankings with more impressive results.
