Emma Raducanu has endured a frustrating start to her 2025 season after withdrawing from the ASB Classic through injury.
Raducanu rose 244 places in the rankings in 2024, despite her season having been heavily impacted by injury issues.
The former British number one would have been looking to get back on track as early as possible this time around, with Raducanu having been training well.
But her Australian Open preparations were dealt a huge blow with a back injury, which has ruled her out of the ongoing WTA 250 event in Auckland.
Raducanu managed 34 WTA Tour matches in 2024, with the former world number 10 winning 21 and losing 13.

But her latest setback seemingly hasn’t knocked her spirit, with Raducanu sharing images of her training and life in general on Instagram, writing the caption: “Being grateful for health and channelling into growth.”
It appears that a handful of the images are from Melbourne, suggesting that the Briton is intending to play at the Australian Open.
What is Emma Raducanu’s Australian Open record?
Raducanu did, of course, record her best Grand Slam finish at the 2021 US Open, where the 18-year-old lifted the trophy.
A stunning run in New York culminated in a straight sets win for the teenager against Canadian Leylah Fernandez.
But such Grand Slam success has yet to be found elsewhere for the one-time WTA title winner, who is now 22.
Second round finishes at the Australian Open and French Open remain her best, improving to the fourth round at Wimbledon.
| Australian Open | French Open | Wimbledon | US Open | |

| 2023 | 2nd | N/A | N/A | N/A |
| 2024 | 2nd | N/A | 4th | 1st |
Raducanu will hopefully get back to full fitness as soon as possible, with the recent hiring of strength and conditioning expert Yutaka Nakamura.
She has also been working hard with coach Nick Cavaday, with a fourth successive Australian Open appearance now hopefully up next for Raducanu.
