Emma Raducanu is really enjoying her tennis right now, having suffered a torrid few years with injury.

Raducanu is ‘focused’ ahead of the new season, where she is playing in the likes of Auckland and Adelaide early on.

Those appearances come ahead of a 2025 Australian Open venture for Raducanu, who has won one Grand Slam so far in her career.

The British number two emerged victorious at the 2021 US Open, where she beat Leylah Fernandez in straight sets.

Since then, however, various injuries have impacted her progression, but Raducanu has now hired fitness coach Yutaka Nakamura.

How Emma Raducanu has changed her attitude towards tennis

Having worked with the likes of Naomi Osaka and Maria Sharapova, Nakamura will hopefully get the Briton into top shape for the Australian Open.

As quoted by the Telegraph, however, Raducanu has switched her priorities away from solely Grand Slam success.

“This is actually something that has changed as I’ve learnt more in the last few years,” said Raducanu. “When I first started, my main reason was ‘I want to win a Grand Slam’.

“And that happened so young, and I’m so grateful for it, but as soon as that happens, I’m like: ‘OK, well, I want to win another Grand Slam.’

“And it’s just not sustainable, because when you don’t win another Grand Slam straightaway, you get frustrated with that.

“But now, the reason I play is genuine. I really enjoy what I’m doing, how I’m working, the people I’m working with, and I just want to see how good I can be.

“Like, I really want to see how fast I can be, how fit I can be, how explosive, how well I can move. As athletes, we all want to win. But that’s not the primary objective.

“It’s more just enjoying what I’m doing, collecting these good days of work, and just seeing how far it can go, really.”

What is Emma Raducanu’s Grand Slam record?

Raducanu is clearly in a good place at this important stage of her career, with enjoying the sport undoubtedly the most important aspect for high-profile athletes.

The pressure to constantly perform can unquestionably be overwhelming, particularly for someone as young as the Briton.

She is just 22 and hopefully has a very long career ahead, but Raducanu certainly piled the pressure on herself with that fantastic Grand Slam success.

British number one and world number 10 spots have also arrived in her impressive career so far, with Raducanu now occupying numbers two and 57 respectively.
