Emma Raducanu has sparked fresh controversy among tennis fans with her recent comments about Andy Murray.
The tension between the two high-profile Brits came during Murrayβs final appearance on the historic Wimbledon turf where he had made history. Raducanu was originally slated to team up with Murray in a blockbuster mixed doubles pairing before she withdrew, citing a wrist injury.
Her decision not only disappointed fans but also led to a minor spat with Judy Murray.
After pulling out of the singles event, Murray was forced to bid farewell to Centre Court after a doubles loss with brother Jamie, but he later expressed that it felt like the βrightβ way to end his playing time at SW19.
However, ahead of this yearβs US Open, former champion Raducanuβs latest remarks about Murray have once again stirred up fan outrage.

Fans outraged at what Emma Raducanu said about Andy Murray
Andy Murray eventually drew the curtain shut on his illustrious career after the Olympics this summer, and ahead of this yearβs final major, Emma Raducanu was asked what it felt like without the three-time major champion on the tour.
βIt doesnβt feel different at all,β she responded. βTennis is unforgiving in that sense. No matter who you are, it just moves on.β
Tennis fans all seem to be in agreement after her remarks have sparked an outrage on social media.
One disgruntled supporter said: βSheβs a disgrace man, a little bit of respect??β While another claimed: βWeβre ready to move on without Emma Raducanu.β
Some have claimed that she may have meant well with her remarks, only to be let down by the manner in which she delivered them.
Who is Raducanu playing at the US Open?
Raducanuβs attentions will turn to the court where she will bid to emulate the form that propelled her to victory at the US Open in 2021 as a qualifier.

The 21-year-old was knocked out in the first round the following year in disappointing fashion, and was hampered by injury through the majority of 2023.
However, Raducanu is back in New York with some wins under her belt in Washington and raring to go again.
She is up against another former grand slam champion, Sofia Kenin, in the first round on Tuesday in an eagerly-anticipated clash.
