Jannik Sinner, alongside his trusty coach Darren Cahill, has already achieved things most players could only dream of.

Already a four-time Grand Slam champion and a two-time ATP Finals winner, at just 24 years old, the sky really is the limit for this Italian superstar.

Were it not for the presence of Carlos Alcaraz, the men’s tour might have been in real jeopardy of being completely and utterly dominated by just one man over the next decade.

Is Jannik Sinner currently the best player in the world?

After all, nobody else can beat him, and that is thanks in part to his constant desire to get better.

Cahill, reviewing another phenomenal season for Jannik Sinner, spoke about the biggest improvement he has made, which is inching him closer to the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Darren Cahill praises Jannik Sinner’s biggest improvement

Speaking to the press after his pupil’s latest triumph, the Australian coach was naturally effusive in his praise for Sinner.

However, in one particular area, he could take no credit.

He instead delegated to his fellow coach, Simone Vagnozzi, claiming: “Simone and Jannik have done an incredible job on serving since the US Open. Jannik serves closer to the lines, which means getting more free points.

“Both Carlos and Jannik are tough to face because with them there’s no time to breathe, a bit like Federer used to do back in the day, when in 40 seconds he held a service turn, putting so much pressure on you.

“We try to learn from the best, from Roger, Djokovic, Nadal. We feel that there are still areas of his game where he can improve. We want him to play his best tennis at 28/30 years old, and we’re laying the groundwork for that. It was a great team victory.”

Sinner even praised his own biggest improvement after the ATP Finals too, showcasing just how proud the whole team is of this great leap forward.

Jannik Sinner’s biggest goal in 2026 is already clear

Having suffered heartbreaking losses at Roland Garros and the US Open, but getting his own back at Wimbledon, this has been yet another enthralling year of great success for Sinner.

However, similar to Alcaraz, he will have a clear and outstanding goal heading into 2026.

After all, with his title at the All-England Club, he added a third new Grand Slam to his trophy cabinet.

Now, just one eludes him.

Having seen three championship points squandered at the French Open this year, it’s clear that he’s not far away from achieving that goal.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz will be desperate to wrestle the Australian Open away from Sinner to complete his own career Grand Slam.

It makes for an intriguing storyline and a fresh narrative heading into 2026 that could spice up their predictable dominance of the ATP Tour.
