After crashing out in the early stages of yet another Grand Slam in 2025, Daniil Medvedev has officially parted ways with his coach Gilles Cervara.
Medvedev lost to Benjamin Bonzi in his opening match at the US Open, with the loss marking his third first-round exit at a major this season.
The Russian has struggled this season and has seen his ATP ranking plummet from fifth to as low as 15th in the world.
Now, Medvedev has decided to make a change and has taken to social media to send a message to Cervara.

In a post on Instagram, the former US Open champion said: “Thank you, Gilles, Amazing 8-10 years together.
“20 titles, world number 1, but most importantly, a lot of fun moments and memories that will stay with us forever.
“I am grateful to you for guiding me through all these years, and let’s see what life brings us in the future.”
Cervara has been the coach of Medvedev since 2017, and guided him to a maiden Grand Slam title, and the position of world number one.
Daniil Medvedev’s struggles on the ATP Tour this season
A coaching switch-up has come at the right time for Medvedev, who has been a shell of his former self on tour this year.
At the Australian Open he suffered a second-round exit to Learner Tien, which ended up being his best finish at a Grand Slam in 2025.
Medvedev lost in the first round of Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open, and has failed to pick up a title at any event, having made just one final.
After eight years with Cervara in his corner, the 29-year-old will now embark on a new journey in pursuit of returning to the level that saw him lift the 2021 US Open crown.
