Daniil Medvedev provided an injury update after exiting the Shanghai Masters courtesy of Jannik Sinner.
The Russian had been having a solid tournament until he came up against one of his greatest rivals on the ATP Tour.
The World number one has now claimed seven of his last eight meetings against Medvedev following a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the Shanghai Masters quarter-finals.
Not only did the 27-year-old lose the match but he suffered a shoulder problem which hampered him during the contest.

Daniil Medvedev was able to earn just one break point against Jannik Sinner, who took control of the match from the start and never looked back.
In the first set, Sinner lost just three points on serve and his clean hitting from the baseline overwhelmed the World number five, who received treatment on his injured shoulder in the second set.
During his post match press conference, Medvedev told reporters about the condition of his shoulder and if he will be forced out of action.
“I, unfortunately, had pain in my shoulder, which I didn’t think I would have,” the former US Open champion said. “It started yesterday during the match, but I thought it was nothing, and I still think, well, I still hope it’s nothing serious, I’ll have to do the checks.
“But it didn’t let me serve the way I wanted, and with Jannik serve is important, because he’s a great server now, it’s tough to break him, so you need to serve well, and without the serve it’s tough.
“Then when you have pain, the energy’s not the same. So, in the second set I tried to, like, pump my energy up, and it did help me a bit, but still, without the serve, it’s tough to beat Jannik, and that’s what happened.”

Sinner took just 85 minutes to defeat Medvedev and reach his 10th Masters 1000 semi-final.
He has dropped just one set in Shanghai and he is in good touch ahead of his semi-final against the dangerous Tomas Machac, who knocked out Carlos Alcaraz.
Medvedev mentioned Sinner’s serve as one of his biggest areas of improvement, as well as his consistency that he has shown throughout the 2024 season.
“Yeah, I mean, he plays well, and I think at this exact moment him and Carlos are probably the best in the world,” he said.
“He serves well, he serves much better than before, and even today, you know, where everything was going a little bit on his side, the few moments where I could maybe have a look at something, he served very big.
“He’s very consistent, yeah, I mean, he’s a great player. I think he has some crazy stats where he almost never loses before quarterfinals, etcetera, so, yeah, he’s a great player.”
