Danielle Collins was clearly distressed in her first round match at the Cincinnati Open.
Collins lost her only match in Cincinnati to doubles world number one Taylor Townsend.
This was not the main talking point from the match, as Collins was seen crying and shouting towards her team mid-match.
Collins’ on-court behaviour is often a big talking point, and she has now revealed what was actually going on.

Danielle Collins reveals why she was crying at the Cincinnati Open
During her emotional outburst in the second set tie-break, Collins was heard shouting ‘Why is this happening to me?’.
Just seven points later the match was over, and after the handshake Collins immediately left the court without her racket bag.
Collins has now revealed that she actually has a herniated disc and fired back at those who were critical of her.
The former world number seven also thanked her opponent, Townsend, who actually carried Collins’ bags over to her team after the match.
“Anyone who has a herniated disc knows my pain (teary eye emoji),” Collins wrote on Instagram. “It’s no surprise the keyboard warriors can’t understand or relate, as they’ve been too busy sitting on their a**** judging people who show up and try to give it their best even on days that suck.
“Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my injury and thank you to Taylor Townsend for being the best of the best (love heart emojis).”

Will Danielle Collins be fit to play the US Open?
There have already been some significant withdrawals from the next Grand Slam tournament, with Paula Badosa and Qinwen Zheng already withdrawing from the US Open.
Collins now faces a race against time to recover for her home Grand Slam tournament, which begins in just two weeks time.
It is unclear as to exactly how long this will take to heal, with adrspine.com suggesting that it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
This gives little hope for fans of Collins, who could be playing her final season on the WTA Tour this year.
Collins made a U-turn on her retirement decision from last year, but it is not clear if she intends to end her career in 2025.
