Coco Gauff secured an eighth WTA-level career title as she beat Karolina Muchova in the final of the China Open.

Gauff labelled Muchova ‘incredible’ after their China Open clash, which the former won 6-1, 6-3 in 76-minutes.

The Czech Republic ace, who recently reached the semi-finals of the US Open, simply struggled to find any rhythm against the Beijing fourth seed.

Gauff now has seven WTA hard-court titles to her name, with the 20-year-old bouncing back from her US Open misery in fantastic fashion.

Her superb overall finals record now sits at 8-1, with American star Gauff extending her head-to-head with Muchova to 3-0.

Gauff does, however, have very little time to celebrate the success with new coach Matt Daly, having recently split with Brad Gilbert.

She is now focusing on her Wuhan Open round of 32 match, although Gauff did manage to find time to reach out to her fans on social media after the China Open win.

“Thank you everyone for all of the love and support these two weeks here in Beijing,” she wrote on X. “Very grateful for it all! See you next year!”

Can Coco Gauff win the Wuhan Open after her China Open success?

It has been a roller-coaster time of late for Gauff, who decided to part ways with Gilbert after failing to defend her US Open title.

That was always going to be a very tricky task for the youngster, but perhaps she was anticipating going beyond the round of 16.

Her compatriot Emma Navarro had other ideas in New York, having also knocked out Gauff in the same stage at Wimbledon earlier in the year.

But the latter is now flying high under Daly, with impressive wins picked up against the likes of Naomi Osaka and Paula Badosa on her way to China Open success.

All eyes will now be on the one-time Grand Slam champion in Wuhan, where like the China Open she is the fourth seed.
