Coco Gauff has continued her superb story at the United Cup by helping send the USA into the semifinals.
Gauff beat Maria Sakkari 6-3, 6-2 as the USA took an early lead against Greece, only for Taylor Fritz to lose to Stefanos Tsitsipas.
But the United Cup defending champions secured a 2-1 win thanks to Gauff’s doubles win alongside Christian Harrison.
The USA will now face either Poland or Australia in the semifinals of the team event, with those two nations set to meet in Sydney later this week.

Coco Gauff on track to claim United Cup MVP once again
WTA number four Gauff has been a shining light once more at the United Cup, just as she was when the USA won the 2025 edition.
The American was named as the MVP in Australia last time out, and is definitely on track for the same honor this time around.
She beat Solana Sierra of Argentina in her opening match, but Gauff lost to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain after that.
Where will Coco Gauff be ranked at the end of the 2026 season?
However, the USA star won both of her doubles matches in those ties, and did the same against Greece after her singles win over Sakkari.
But it’s been a team effort once more from the defending champions, with Fritz and Harrison also playing important roles thus far.
There has also been expert leadership from team captain Michael Russell, who will be delighted by the superb efforts of his players in Australia.
