Coco Gauff makes her feelings clear on co-flag bearer LeBron James at the Paris Olympic Games.
The US Open winner and the four-time NBA champion were given the honour of carrying the star spangled banner at the opening ceremony.
The pair beamed with pride as they held the flag aloft while cruising down the River Seine with the rest of their teammates.
After Stephen Curry told James he is carrying the US flag, Gauff joined him and in the process became the first tennis player to be a flag bearer for Team USA at an Olympic Games.
What did Coco Gauff say about LeBron James at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony?
Gauff and James braved the rain along with the thousands of other athletes who graced the crowds while on the River Seine at the Olympics opening ceremony.
During the event Gauff was asked for a comment on becoming an Olympian and as she did so, she referenced her co-flag bearer with a clear view on his status in basketball.
“It means a lot to me to represent team USA and be with the goat here, Mister LeBron James,” she said. “It means a lot. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to do well in the games.”
James added: “It’s an honor. It goes back all the way to my home town. To all our communities. For myself and Coco to be able to represent our country, us being black kids as well representing our culture and where we come from, it gives everyone so much hope where we come from. That’s all we can ask for. We take it with the utmost responsibility and honor.”

How many medals can Coco Gauff win at the Olympic Games?
Gauff can win up to three medals at her very first Olympic Games.
She will compete in the singles, in addition to the women’s doubles alongside Jessica Pegula, who she has won titles with in the past.
