Coco Gauff was pleased with one thing she was able to accomplish at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Gauff competed in her first Olympics and entered the event as the co-flag bearer for USA alongside basketball legend LeBron James.
She was certainly one of the faces of the Paris Games and there was plenty of expectation on the World number two’s shoulders.
Despite the pressure she faced Gauff had a fantastic time meeting other members of Team USA such as the gymnasts, swimmers and basketball players.
But it was an encounter she had with some fellow tennis players that proved to be one of her most special moments from her first Olympic Games.
What did Coco Gauff finally achieve at the Paris Olympic Games?
Coco Gauff achieved a lifelong dream of becoming an Olympian and sharing the stage with some of the world’s best athletes.
As much as the reigning US Open champion enjoyed meeting competitors from other sports, was able to do something with tennis colleagues Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray that had been a goal for some time.
“I finally got a picture with Rafa [Nadal] and traded pins with him,” Gauff told reports in Toronto ahead of the Canadian Open.
“Carlos [Alcaraz] didn’t have any pins so I didn’t let him get in the selfie! “I finally got a picture with Andy [Muray] which I always wanted to ask.
“The two goals were to get a picture with those two and ironically they were tennis players so I could have done it at any tournament!”

What were Coco Gauff’s results at the Olympic Games?
Though Gauff’s Olympic Games started well, it quickly turned to disappointment ont he court. Gauff was upset by Donna Vekic in the third round, who went on to win the silver medal for Croatia.
Gauff won just one match alongside Jessica Pegula in the women’s doubles before the Czech team of Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová defeated them in round two.
Gauff’s mixed doubles campaign with Taylor Fritz ended in the second round at the hands of Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime and Gabriela Dabrowski, who finished their Paris Olympics with a bronze medal.
Gauff is looking to quickly bounce back at the ongoing Canadian Open where she is the top seed. She began her campaign against China’s Wang Yafan and defeated her to move into the next round.
