What did Jannik Sinner want to know about Carlos Alcaraz’s drop shots?
The ATP Tour posted a video to their YouTube channel of Alcaraz answering questions from his fellow players.
One of those to pose a question to the four-time Grand Slam champion was World number one Jannik Sinner.
The Australian and US Open champion, who has been on the receiving end of his rival’s drop shots, asked the Spaniard: “How can you perform your drop shots in such a beautiful way?”
Alcaraz, who did not expect this question, replied: “I’ve been practicing the drop shot since I was seven or eight years old,” he said. “There has been so much hours on it, that’s why.”

Alcaraz and Sinner have positioned themselves as the next two players to dominate the sport at the highest level after the ‘Big 3’ following their Grand Slam success.
Alcaraz added to his two majors by becoming the sixth man to win the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back. Sinner claimed the year’s two hard court majors, as did Aryna Sabalenka on the WTA Tour.
This meant that for just the fourth time in history, three players won two majors or more in the same year, and this has happened for the first time since 1982.
That year, it was Jimmy Connors, Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, who won two Grand Slams each.
