Carlos Alcaraz set up another final date with Jannik Sinner by beating Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals of the ATP Finals.

Alcaraz was praised by Auger-Aliassime after the win for the Spaniard, and now he locks horns with Sinner once again in 2025.

Alcaraz sent Sinner a message after the win, and it’s clear that he’s looking forward to another match with the Italian in 2025 as the pair both go in search of a final title this year.

Carlos Alcaraz shares whether he thinks he’s the favourite for the ATP Finals final

Alcaraz has already lifted the end-of-year world number one trophy and he’s done well to claw Sinner back in that respect during 2025.

Now, he will be hoping for one final win over the Italian to finish the year with a flourish ahead of him competing at the Davis Cup for Spain.

After his win over Auger-Aliassime, Alcaraz was quizzed on his opponent’s record on indoor courts and also had some kind words about his opponent and picked who he thought was the favourite for the match.

He said in his press conference: “He beat me 6-3 pretty easily (in practice), to be honest. In sport, it is a totally different feeling from going to a match.

“I said that playing against Jannik on indoor court is one of the best or most difficult challenges that we have in tennis right now.

Is another Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner final good for men’s tennis?

“I think he has a winning streak of 30, 31 matches in a row. On the indoor court, we’re playing in front of his home crowd. That makes it even more difficult to play against him.

“Let’s see tomorrow. But I’m ready to take the challenge, and I’m ready to play really good tennis.

“Who is the favourite (smiling)?

I mean, the No. 1 means that I’ve been playing really good during the whole season, on the surfaces. He’s playing the best on the indoor court. We’re playing in front of his home crowd. I would say he’s the favourite.

“Don’t want to believe it, but I would say he’s the favourite for tomorrow, I guess (smiling).”

Having the event in Turin does naturally give Sinner the edge when it comes to the support he will receive, and given his record against the Spaniard in 2025, he needs all the help he can get.

Alcaraz will fancy his chances, and although Sinner is dynamite on the indoor scene, the world number one is hardly too shabby himself.
