Carlos Alcaraz has reached his first ever Monte Carlo Masters final after beating compatriot Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Alcaraz was winless in Monte Carlo prior to this year, but now finds himself just one win away from lifting the coveted trophy.

This victory over Davidovich Fokina follows up from a challenging quarter-final, where Alcaraz was nearly beaten by Arthur Fils.

Alcaraz is now just one win away from his biggest title of his 2025 season, and he has provided an update on his physical state ahead of the Monte Carlo Masters final.

Carlos Alcaraz says how is feeling physically ahead of Monte Carlo Masters final

Alcaraz beat Davidovich Fokina, 7-6(2) 6-4, hitting 21 winners past his good friend and fellow Spaniard.

After beating the world number 42 in two hours and 10 minutes, Alcaraz spoke to Sky Sports about how he felt the match went.

The world number three also revealed that he is feeling great physically, and is looking forward to the final.

“Well, I think I played really good tennis from the beginning to the last point,” said Alcaraz. “I think I tried to take the chances he gave me in the match… he saved a lot of break points, a lot of match points until he was close.

“But I’m just really happy to just think about myself, I think I played a good match tactically, it was a great match. The most important thing for me is that I feel great physically, moving the ball, so I’m just super excited about tomorrow.”

Carlos Alcaraz reveals how it feels to reach his first Masters 1000 final in over a year

Alcaraz had already matched a Jannik Sinner record by reaching the semi-finals, and has now overtaken his rival in the race to the ATP Finals.

Despite this, it is actually Alcaraz’s first final at Masters 1000 level since March 2024, when he won the Indian Wells title.

Alcaraz was beaten by Jack Draper in the semi-finals of Indian Wells this year, and subsequently lost his opening match at the Miami Open.

The 21-year-old admitted that he has had to be patient to get back into a final at this level, and is going to try and enjoy the moment.

There have been some questions over Alcaraz’s coaching setup in recent weeks, but the man himself declared that he is very happy with his team.

“Yeah, I mean it feels like it has been a long time, but yeah I just had to be patient, I had to believe that this moment is going to come again and just working, working, working hard,” explained Alcaraz. “Probably people are not patient.. they want me to make a final in every tournament.

“So I’m really happy to give them the chance to watch one of my finals again. I’m happy with my team and with everything we’ve done in this period since the last final. I’m gonna try to enjoy this moment.”

Alcaraz will look to win his first ever title in the altered Monte Carlo Masters final, as he awaits the winner of the other semi-final between Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti.
