Carlos Alcaraz began his clay court season with a strong performance at the Monte-Carlo Masters last week.
World number two Alcaraz traveled to Europe without a Masters 1000 title under his belt for the first time in four years.
Turning his fortunes around in impressive fashion, Alcaraz beat Lorenzo Musetti to win the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Heading to Spain for the Barcelona Open ATP 500 event, Alcaraz looked to continue his winning form.
Doing so in straight sets, Alcaraz now reveals what he hasn’t been able to do since winning the Monte-Carlo Masters title recently.
Carlos Alcaraz says he hasn’t been able to ‘rest at all’ since winning the Monte-Carlo title
Alcaraz beat America’s Ethan Quinn in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6, to advance to the second round of the Barcelona Open.
After the match, the 21-year-old revealed what he hasn’t done since picking up the title in Monte-Carlo two days ago.
“Clay season is short and really intense; it’s week after week, and you have to give 100% in every match and every tournament,” said Alcaraz.
“Just two days ago I was in Monte-Carlo playing a final and I had to fly yesterday and had a practise just to feel how it is you know playing here in Barcelona is different conditions.

“So I couldn’t rest at all, so that’s why conserving energy is really important right now.
“As tennis players, we have to get used to it, but sometimes we need a little bit of days to rest, to recharge the batteries to give 100% again.”
Alcaraz saved a set point during the second set tiebreaker and was pleased to have secured the win in straights.
“It was a really difficult match for me, I just had to deal with the nerves and the pressure that probably I had playing here in Barcelona,” he said.

“I’m just really happy to be able to win in straight sets, physically it’s important to save a bit of energy for the next matches.
“Just happy to get through and give myself another chance to play another match.”

Alcaraz and Djere have faced off once before on the ATP Tour, in Buenos Aires two years ago.
Making his first appearance of the year, having missed the Australian Open through injury, Alcaraz returned to action with a hard-fought win over Djere.
Alcaraz came through a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 winner, booking his spot in the quarterfinals of the Argentina Open.
The 21-year-old will be hoping for more of the same when he plays Djere in Barcelona on Thursday, April 17.
