Carlos Alcaraz is looking to win his second title at the Queen’s Club Championships in 2025.

Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner to win Roland Garros at his last tournament, and is now switching his attention to the grass court season.

The Spaniard is playing at the prestigious Queen’s Club once again, where Alcaraz lost to Jack Draper in the second round last year.

Alongside Draper, Alcaraz has named three other threats to himself and the aforementioned world number one Jannik Sinner.

Alcaraz has also been looking back on the past, and has now revealed who he thinks was the better player between Pete Sampras and Boris Becker.

Carlos Alcaraz picks who he thinks was better out of Pete Sampras and Boris Becker

Alcaraz is one of the many former champions of the prestigious Queen’s Club event that is hosting its 122nd edition in 2025.

Ahead of beginning his bid to reclaim the title at the ATP 500 tournament, Alcaraz was asked to rank some of the former champions.

This began in tough fashion, with Alcaraz having to pick between two multiple-time Grand Slam champions in Sampras and Becker.

After taking a short pause, Alcaraz opted for Sampras as the better player out of the two, but it was not long until the American was knocked off his perch.

Alcaraz quickly chose Lleyton Hewitt over Sampras, also picking the Australian over Tommy Paul, Andy Roddick, Sam Querrey, Marin Cilic and Matteo Berrettini.

However, Hewitt’s run finally came to an end when Alcaraz picked Grigor Dimitrov, who withdrew from Queen’s this year.

Alcaraz then finished by choosing five-time champion Andy Murray over both Dimitrov and then himself.

Pete Sampras vs Boris Becker Head-to-head

Perhaps the most interesting pick Alcaraz made during that game involved two dominant players from the 1990’s in Sampras and Becker.

Both players had very successful careers as multiple-time Grand Slam champions and former world number ones.

They also enjoyed a rivalry, that is highlighted by the 1995 Wimbledon final that Sampras won.

Sampras led the head-to-head overall by winning 12 of their 19 meetings, as well as winning more majors and spending longer as world number one.

This suggests on that occasion Alcaraz may have made the more logical pick.
