Carlos Alcaraz has lifted the French Open trophy for the second time in his career after his final victory over Jannik Sinner.
Tim Henman called the French Open final one of the best matches ever, in which Alcaraz beat Sinner 4-6, 6-7(4-7), 6-4, 7-6(7-3), 7-6(10-2).
The duo played out a five-hour, 29-minute final clash at Court Philippe-Chatrier in Paris, where the Spaniard successfully defended his title.
Sinner was denied a maiden French Open success, but has retained his number one spot in the ATP rankings.
World number two Alcaraz is now a five-time Grand Slam champion, with his latest triumph involving a recovery from three championship points down.

Carlos Alcaraz completes achievement Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic cannot match
But his win has further significance, with Alcaraz completing an achievement that the Big Three failed to manage.
He has defended his titles at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, a feat not secured by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic.

Federer and Djokovic failed to ever defend their French Open titles, with Nadal failing to defend a title at Wimbledon.
While Federer and Nadal have already retired, Djokovic is still playing, but the 38-year-old is unlikely to tick such a milestone off his list.
Carlos Alcaraz emulates Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic
At the same time, Alcaraz has emulated the Big Three with his stunning success over Sinner at the French Open.
As per OptaAce, he has become the fourth player this century to win a men’s singles Grand Slam title for four consecutive years, following Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.
It truly is a phenomenal achievement, with the Spanish superstar clearly doing something very right given the company he finds himself in.
Nadal congratulated Alcaraz after he emerged victorious, but the latter will likely want to push away from the comparisons with the Big Three.
The 22-year-old will be keen to forge his own path, which he is already doing with a stunning five Grand Slam titles won.
Hugely impressively, he has already won titles on clay, grass and hard courts, and has won all five of his Grand Slam finals.
| Result | Year | Tournament | Surface | Opponent | Score |
| Win | 2022 | US Open | Hard | Casper Ruud | 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7-1), 6-3 |
| Win | 2023 | Wimbledon | Grass | Novak Djokovic | 1-6, 7-6(8-6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 |
| Win | 2024 | French Open | Clay | Alexander Zverev | 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 |
| Win | 2024 | Wimbledon | Grass | Novak Djokovic | 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(7-4) |
| Win | 2025 | French Open | Clay | Jannik Sinner | 4-6, 6-7(4-7), 6-4, 7-6(7-3), 7-6(10-2) |
| Loss | 2025 | Wimbledon | Grass | Jannik Sinner | 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 4-6 |
Worryingly for his rivals, the Spaniard could get even better, while there is also the presence of fellow world-class star Sinner on the ATP Tour.
They have now combined for the last six Grand Slam titles, and could very well continue that success at Wimbledon and the US Open this year.
