Carlos Alcaraz is already back in action this week at the Japan Open, having only just played at the Laver Cup.
Alcaraz impressed at the Laver Cup once more, but it was Team World who emerged victorious in San Francisco.
They defeated Team Europe 15-9, with world number one Alcaraz now rapidly moving on to another regular-season event.
He is the top seed at the ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo, and starts out against Sebastian Baez in the first round.
The Spanish superstar enters the event with a 61-6 win-loss record in 2025, with seven ATP titles won so far.

Carlos Alcaraz confirms if he will play in the Davis Cup Final for Spain
Alcaraz has had a busy season so far, but it looks like it will get even busier given his plans to play in another event later in 2025.
After his long and successful run at the US Open in New York, Alcaraz withdrew from the Davis Cup earlier this month.
He missed Spain’s win over Denmark in second round qualifying, but the star man now looks set to return to play for his nation at the Final 8.
As shared by Jose Morgado, Alcaraz spoke to basketball icon Pau Gasol at the Laver Cup, and said of his schedule: “ATP Finals and then the Davis Cup I want to be in top form to see if we can get it.”
What is Carlos Alcaraz’s route to potential Davis Cup success with Spain?
Spain managed to reach the Davis Cup Final 8 without the services of Alcaraz, who took a brief rest after winning the US Open.
They defeated Denmark 3-2 in the second round of qualifying, having reached that stage with a 3-1 win over Switzerland earlier this season.
The seven teams from the qualifiers second round and 2024 champions Italy will now battle it out for the trophy in Bologna in November.
Spain face a tough test against Czechia in the quarterfinals, with the winner of that tie taking on either Germany or Argentina.
And Alcaraz could play Jannik Sinner at the Davis Cup should results go their way, with that potential match set to take place in the final.
Defending champions Italy face Austria first up, and will meet either France or Belgium in the semifinals should they proceed.
