Carlos Alcaraz has another busy season ahead, with the Spaniard having travelled far and wide in 2024.

He did, of course, enjoy huge success on the court, with Alcaraz ending the season ranked third on the ATP Tour.

Alcaraz is now in training ahead of 2025, where the Spaniard will be looking to add to his four tour-level titles.

The 21-year-old star won the French Open and Wimbledon, as well as triumphing at Beijing and Indian Wells.

And despite a very busy season that culminated at the ATP Finals, Alcaraz headed to America to play in two exhibition events.

Carlos Alcaraz to play in Puerto Rico before Indian Wells

He took on Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe at The Garden Cup and the Charlotte Invitational respectively, winning the former and losing the latter.

And one of those rivalries will be renewed in 2025, with El Nuevo Dia reporting that Alcaraz will play an exhibition match against Tiafoe in March.

The match will take place in Puerto Rico in March before the Indian Wells, with home favourite Monica Puig playing host at the Coliseum of Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot.

Puig became the first Puerto Rican in history to win a gold medal at the Olympics with her success in women’s singles at Rio 2016.

Carlos Alcaraz adds another exhibition despite schedule complaints

It is remarkable that players continue to commit to events, many of which are far afield, despite the challenging schedule.

Alcaraz has been vocal about the busy ATP Tour calendar in recent times, but isn’t exactly going about the issue the right way.

Exhibition events are, however, very much light-hearted and certainly don’t require the physical or mental aspect of a competitive match.

Moreover, there is likely a huge sum of money involved to bring Alcaraz to Puerto Rico, which he would be foolish to turn down.

Such is his competitive nature meanwhile that he will very likely want to win the match, particularly having lost to Tiafoe in Charlotte.
